Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026 · Effective for KernelKin (kkin.ai)

1. Who we are

KernelKin is operated by Lumaverse AI Group Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the KernelKin app, website, and related services, including memorial (deceased) profiles, voice features, and family messaging.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email, authentication identifiers, display name, and profile details you provide.
  • Family & memorial content: messages, photos, videos, audio, documents, and other memories you upload about living or deceased relatives.
  • Voice samples: recordings you upload or capture to build a custom voice for yourself or, where you have authority, for a memorial profile.
  • Usage & device data: approximate usage logs, crash diagnostics, push-notification tokens, and technical identifiers needed to run the service.
  • Payments: subscription and billing metadata processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).

3. How we use data

  • Provide chats, memorial AI replies, voice calls, memory analysis, and related product features.
  • Generate synthetic speech and (where enabled) AI responses grounded in memories you uploaded.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
  • Process subscriptions and customer support requests.

Memorial chats and calls are AI recreations based on memories and settings you control. They are not the living person, and they do not replace professional grief, legal, or medical advice.

4. Processors & subprocessors

We use trusted providers to operate KernelKin, including authentication and database hosting (e.g. Supabase), AI inference and speech services (e.g. OpenAI, ElevenLabs), and payment processing (e.g. Stripe). These providers process data only to deliver the service under contractual obligations. Do not upload content you are not entitled to share with these processors.

5. Memorial voices & likeness

Creating a memorial voice or uploading memories of a deceased person requires a steward who affirms they have the right and authority to do so. Voice cloning produces a synthetic likeness intended for family remembrance within KernelKin — not for deception, impersonation outside the product, or unlawful use. You may request deletion of a custom voice or memorial materials by contacting support or using in-product delete controls where available.

6. Retention

We retain account and memorial data while your account remains active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can delete memories and, where supported, request account deletion. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us using the details below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children

KernelKin is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Parents or guardians who create child-related profiles are responsible for providing only appropriate content and consent where required by law.
